Photographing Don Wallace’s Tampa Mansion

Real estate shoots don’t come much bigger than this, whether we are talking square footage or price tag. If you happen to have $22 million stuffed down the back of your sofa then this property could be the one for you. Bare in mind, Zillow thinks you will likely need $110,000 a month to keep this home functioning. Keeping this place looking as good as it does is a full-time job for a small army.

Known as The Oaks, is among the largest single-family residences in Hillsborough County.

This French Normandy style mansion is home to Don Wallace, the founder and former CEO of Lazydays RVs. We were commissioned to shoot this masterpiece by the team over at Smith and Associates Real Estate.

Designed by Cooper Johnson Smith Peterson Architects this home has it all. 27,000 square foot main house – tick, 8 bedrooms – tick, 12 bathrooms, 16 half bathrooms, seven-car garage, two-story guest house, pool house, six-bay horse stable, and barn – tick. The list goes on… an 11,000 square foot air-conditioned state of the art workshop, 2 story boathouse, 1-mile jogging trail, antique car collector garage, and gatehouse. Throw in 400 mature live oaks and 21 imported Italian Cypress Trees for good measure as well.

4 contiguous properties were acquired to form the 36-acre estate with 1,278 feet of lake frontage.

Oh, and it sits on nearly 21 acres with its own racetrack. Probably missed something but you get the picture, if this home doesn’t have it it’s probably not worth having.

Earlier in the year, we traveled down to St.Petersburg to capture some interiors photography for a new custom home designed by the talented team at Studio M. After saddling up the trusty Tacoma we bravely made our way south on the glorified carpark that is I4. After devouring a long list of post casts we finally arrived at this stunning red brick riverside home.

Built and designed by Cooper Johnson Smith this home has a wealth of beautiful architectural details scattered throughout. Combine this with the exceptional design skills of Michelle and the team at Studio M and you have a home that is going to photograph extremely well.

With a wealth of natural light to play with, this home was a joy to photograph. At the end of the day, we walked away from this interiors photography shoot with a bagful of portfolio images. Don’t believe me, see for yourself.
